Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi`s realization was unique and that was a practical demonstration of `NO MEANS` or `ANUPAYA`."What is uncreated can not be gained by anything that one can do"(MUNDAKA Upanishad). `SELF` is realized not by one`s doing something, but by one`s refraining from doing anything-by remaining still and being simply what one really `IS`.     Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi`s realization was unique and that was a practical demonstration of `NO MEANS` or `ANUPAYA`.
    One day a visitor asked Maharshi what sadhana(spiritual practice) he did for realization.

    Ramana Maharshi:
     " I had no idea of meditation and contemplation and I had never performed any `pranayama`or `japa`. Sadhana implies an object to be gained and the means of gaining it. What is there to be gained?- which We do not already possess. Every body seems to believe that by practicing some wonderful sadhana, the self would some day descend upon them as something very big and with tremendous glory and then they would have `Sakshatkaram`. The self itself is `sakshat`-truth or real- and there is no `karam`or doing something about it. But the
    `SELF` is realized not by one`s doing something, but by one`s refraining from doing anything-by remaining still and being simply what one really `IS`.
