The Self is self-luminous without darkness and light, and is the reality which is self-manifest. Therefore, one should not think of it as this or that. All such thoughts would only end in bondage. The purport of meditation on the Self is to make the mind take the ‘form’ of the Self. In the middle of the heart-cave is the pure Brahman directly manifest as the Self in the form of ‘I-I’. Can there be greater ignorance than to think of It in manifold ways, without knowing it as aforementioned? ~RAMANA MAHARSHI

SELF-REMEMBRANCE

Remembering the Self, one’s real nature, without faltering even slightly, is the eminent victory of true jnana.

With your consciousness hold fast to and never abandon the substratum, your real nature, the Supreme that can neither be held nor relinquished.

Is the Self something far away that you have to touch? The higher Self exists as one but it is only your thoughts that make you feel it is not. You can neither think about it nor forget it.

Other than the thought of the Self, any other thought you ay associate with, is a mere mental construct, foreign to that Self.

Thinking of the Self is to abide as that tranquil consciousness. Padam, the true swarupa, can neither be remembered nor forgotten.

During cosmic flood everything went underneath water, and there was only water-water everywhere. There BALA-KRISHNA (Krishna in his child form) was seen above water, lying on the leaf of a banyan tree( Alila krishnan) sucking one of his toes in his mouth.

During cosmic flood everything went underneath water, and there was only water-water everywhere. There BALA-KRISHNA (Krishna in his child form) was seen above water, lying on the leaf of a banyan tree( Alila krishnan) sucking one of his toes in his mouth.

The esotericism behind the story goes on like this.

A gentle breeze is more than enough for the leaves of a banyan tree to keep on vibrating. This actually represents the turbulent , wavering mind oscillating in between attachment, aversion, desire, anger, greed, delusion, arrogance and competition (RAGA, DWESHA, KAMA, KRODHA, LOBHA, MOHA, MADA and MATSARYA). The complete cessation of thought- waves by persistent and consistent `SELF-INQUIRY`(Athma-vichara) results in Self- Realization and that is the cosmic- flood (PRALAYA). BALA- KRISHNA sucking his toe denotes the realized soul who revels in his own `SELF`- being Swathma Sukhi or Swaathmaaraaman.

Friends!

We shall start our voyage through this un-fathomable sea of consciousness- boarding the boat of Self-Realization- towards the shores of `SAHAJA- SAMADHI`.
 `Swaathmaaraaman`

Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi`s realization was unique and that was a practical demonstration of `NO MEANS` or `ANUPAYA`."What is uncreated can not be gained by anything that one can do"(MUNDAKA Upanishad). `SELF` is realized not by one`s doing something, but by one`s refraining from doing anything-by remaining still and being simply what one really `IS`. "Out of thousands perhaps one strives for perfection; out of those who strive, perhaps one knows `ME` AS `I AM`. -Bhagavad geetha.

    -Bhagavad geetha.

Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi`s realization was unique and that was a practical demonstration of `NO MEANS` or `ANUPAYA`.
One day a visitor asked Maharshi what sadhana(spiritual practice) he did for realization.

    Ramana Maharshi:
" I had no idea of meditation and contemplation and I had never performed any `pranayama`or `japa`. Sadhana implies an object to be gained and the means of gaining it. What is there to be gained?- which We do not already possess. Every body seems to believe that by practicing some wonderful sadhana, the self would some day descend upon them as something very big and with tremendous glory and then they would have `Sakshatkaram`. The self itself is `sakshat`-truth or real- and there is no `karam`or doing something about it. But the
`SELF` is realized not by one`s doing something, but by one`s refraining from doing anything-by remaining still and being simply what one really `IS`.

`ZEN` is beyond words. The language of zen is silence. Zen can not be put into words. Zen can be communicated from heart to heart, through silence only, with out the intervention of body, mind, and intellect complex.

Friends! Here is another ZEN story for the seekers of Sahaja- Samadhi.

There was a master in a zen monastery, who seldom made any sermons. The disciples were eager to listen to his spiritual discourses. To their great surprise, one day the master asked everybody,to gather up in the meditation hall. Everybody assembled at the hall and after some time the master came and sat in front of them. Sitting silently for a while, he started to leave the hall, with out uttering a single word. Disciples followed him and asked him, why he did`t come up with a sermon.

Master told : Plenty of spiritual teachers are there who teaches you Buddha suthras of Bodhidharma. And spiritual disciplinarians are there advocating sanctions and prohibitions. My dear children! I am a `ZEN` teacher and `ZEN` is beyond words. The language of zen is silence. Zen can not be put into words. Zen can be communicated from heart to heart, through silence only, with out the intervention of body, mind, and intellect complex.

    Moral of the story

`ZEN` is nothing but pure consciousness- here- there- and every where. Zen is not limited by space, time and causation. ZEN (BRAHMAN) is transcendental, not affected by duality. Only those who can comprehend the language of silence can attain `ZEN` or `Brahman' resulting in`SAHAJA SAMADHI`(Peace-Inherent)- already attained.
